The Kolping team

Renewal is top priority

Baldauf CsabaWe know that our guests like to see us improving year after year. For this very reason we never sit still, even if you see us quieter than usual, you can be sure, we are thinking about our next step. It might be as small as a new activity, but do not be surprised if you find a new pool in the hotel at your next visit! We are fearless when it comes to the comfort of our guests! We have come a long way from the thought of building the hotel in 1991. It was in 1996 that our director, Csaba Baldauf greeted our first guests in the hotel lobby, and today it is still him who represents continuity and quality. Not even in our dreams dared we hope to grow into Hungary's first child friendly hotel, we think our popularity must be based on great quality.

Child-friendly staff

We know that organizing a family vacation is not easy. Parents have a million questions before travelling, but believe us: we are here to make sure you feel safe, welcome and have all the great memories to take home with you! We know kids have a mind of their own. We at Kolping still adore their little bikes and pinky princess outfits, even if they leave them in the middle of corridors! We are not only a child friendly hotel, we have child friendly staff too: there are 115 people working in the hotel and those 115 people have 124 kids altogether! Trust us that everyone from the receptionist to the waiting staff wants you to have fun and go home with a big smile on your face!

Staff-friendly workplace

We genuinely believe in families. We could easily turn this into a marketing point, however our directors put a great emphasis on creating a family friendly workplace. It is an especially hard task in hospitality and tourism as staff need to work late hours, weekends and holidays too. We are here to pay attention to all our guests, be that the middle of the night or a bank holiday. The staff-friendly policy of the hotel management takes into account that the staff has families too.

Professionalism and empathy

Working with us is only possible if the candidate is good professionally. However it is only the first step. For us to consider taking someone for a position we have to be sure the person speaks the language of family life too! In Kolping the receptionist is not merely giving guests their keys but greets them as regulars, the cleaning of a room is not about mopping the floor but making a room ready for the arrival of a baby and our chefs are not cooking dinner, but cooking favourites. We all try to give a little more every day!

And why we do it?

Instead of explaining, let us quote from 3 letters:

'We only met kind people in the hotel. It is a miracle to find a place in Hungary where people smile at you all the time. My son, 4, said 'Let's stay till I get old, shall we?' I think he said better than I could how much we enjoyed staying with you! Thank you!' Mrs. Adrienn Szabo, Budapest, April 2009

'We spent 3 lovely days with you last week. After arriving home a lady at the playground asked my daughter Szonja, 2,5, where she lived. Her answer was 'Boboland'.' Mrs. Tímea Hanzély dr., April 2008

'My son Balázs is 9 years old. We have spent many long weekends in the Kolping Hotel before, so my husband suggested to try other hotels, therefore it was October 2007 we were in Boboland the last time. This November we were discussing where to go for the autumn holiday. A couple of names were mentioned when our son said 'Daddy, let's go to that foreign country where they talk Hungarian! You know where Bobo lives!' We all laughed, we knew he was talking about Kolping, the place he enjoyed most whenever being on holiday in Hungary.' Mrs. Klára Mikó, November 2008.

It is in the name!

Adolf KolpingOur hotel is named after Adolf Kolping, a German Catholic priest, whose goal was to ease the social problems of his fellow men. His work was the origin of today's Kolping Federation, a Catholic movement that brings people together into family-like groups. The members of the 'families' help each other throughout their lives, any age group finds their place in their Kolping 'families'. That is the idea behind our hotel and that is where our  family-based price policy and services come from. With these values and experience we are still unmatched in Hungary!

Kolping Charity

We always find new goals, and we are willing to fight for them. We have helped to restore a church in Transylvania, put smiles on little faces with clown doctors, and donate to help giving food to African children, to name just a few. In the last couple of years our hotel has supported numerous causes by donating millions of Forints for the needy. We would like to thank everyone who contributed to these noble causes either by attending a charity dinner or by buying a carved, African hippo from our collection!
